We have a friend who has eaten the same exact thing for lunch for the past 12 years or so: A can of salmon, a Natural Ovens bagel, and a slice of Laughing Cow cheese. It never wavers. She doesn't add an apple on Mondays or a bag of Sun Chips on Fridays. She's never tempted by Chipotle or McDonalds and she never gets sick of her special triple combo.

Today, surrounded by a sea of red, seven of your favorite Lifeway employees gathered in the Grand Ballroom of the Palmer House Hilton in downtown Chicago for the sixth annual Chicago Go Red For Women Event. ABC7 Chicago news anchor Cheryl Burton emceed the event, which was attended by over 500 women and men and generated $50,000+ in donations. Chicago Bears left cornerback Charles Tillman was the keynote speaker, and he shared his very personal story of how heart disease has impacted his life. In May of 2008, his then-three-month-old daughter, Tiana, was diagnosed with a condition called Dilated Cardiomyopathy; by July 2008 of that same year, after spending months in the hospital hooked up to tubes and machines and awaiting a transplant, Tiana received a heart transplant. She, her parents and siblings just celebrated her second birthday this month.

Word on the street is, chocolate is too cliché, jewelry too pricey in this economy…but a bottle of Lifeway kefir just might help you score. Surprised? We’re not: It can be sweet or tangy, with just a hint of champagne-like effervescence. It feels silky and cool on your tongue and puts an extra spring in your step. It even improves your kissing by fighting bad breath – a surefire mood killer. We spoke to a few female fans about why they’d swoon over a February 14 bottle of kefir…read on and then tell us why we put YOU in the mood, too!

Eating Double-Stuffed Oreos and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup ice cream might make you feel all beautiful and glowy on the inside (temporarily at least), but those fat bombs won’t do your body and good. To help yourself look beautiful on the outside, you’ve got to feed yourself clean, whole foods. And according to the January issue of In Style Magazine (Whitney Houston is on the cover), kefir is one of the best ways to do just that.

But come winter, our skin turns on us like an evil monster, drying up like the Sahara and becoming so pale we might as well be an extra in Twilight.
