At Lifeway Foods, we are doing everything we can to help kick plastics to the curb. Our Lifeway Kefir bottles are 100% recyclable. Of course, there’s another person in the equation: you. So even though it’s a pain, take the time to throw those bottles in the recycling bin. On behalf of the earth, we thank you.
In order to make our Lifeway ProBugs easy for little hands to hold, we use flexible packaging. This is currently not recyclable, but it is eco-friendly in other ways. Flexible packaging takes 75% less energy to produce than rigid packaging, and also takes up 96% less space in a landfill. In fact, one truckload of one-liter sized flexible bottles uses the same space as a whopping 25 truckloads of rigid packaging.
We continue to explore ways to make our flexible packaging recyclable. When there is a way, we will be all over it.
