LIFEWAY FOODS EXPANDS ‘SWEET KISS‘’ LINE OF CHEESE SPREADS
Three New Flavors Added to Meet Growing Demand for Healthier,
Low-Fat Spread

Grove, Illinois, April 2, 2002 — Lifeway Foods, Inc. (Nasdaq: LWAY)
announced today that it has expanded its line of Sweet Kiss‘ cheese
spreads with additional flavors. The new probiotic product line will
include plain, peach and apple varieties as well as the original raisin
spread. The three new flavors, which offer a low-fat alternative to
cream cheese, began shipping last week.
Lifeway Sweet Kiss
spreads are lower in fat, cholesterol and calories than regular cream
cheese. The Company has produced this unique probiotic spread for over
10 years utilizing a proprietary process, and recently broadened the
line in response to steady growth in consumer demand.
The expanded Sweet Kiss line will be distributed nationwide to
supermarkets and specialty food stores through Lifeway’s existing
network of specialty food distributors. The extension of the Sweet Kiss
product line is expected to significantly increase revenues and profits
for the company.
